Food Programs Associate (Full-Time)
The Food Programs Associate is responsible for providing basic needs assistance through three food programs. This position meets organizational standards and interacts with clients, volunteers and everyone at TCP in a welcoming, respectful, and caring manner. This position processes inbound food orders and donations (both on- and off-site) and assists neighbors in shopping for food.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Processes inbound food items through pick-ups, receiving, sorting and stocking;
- Supports client shopping experience through check-in and item selection;
- Supports outbound food items by weighing and loading vehicles;
- Ensures client wait time is minimal and clients are provided same-day service, if possible;
- Ensure timely communication and updates to other staff and volunteers regarding all pantry related updates;
- Provides input on operational procedures;
- Maintains a full understanding of systems and procedures required for a department’s operations;
- Participate and contribute actively in all supervisory and team meetings;
- Work independently, organize work efficiently, prioritize responses to changing needs of clients and volunteers;
- Prioritize workload while remaining flexible in the demands of the workday.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate has the following education, experience, and expertise:
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Forklift certification preferred
- Warehouse experience preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultures preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Frequent stooping, bending, pulling and pushing
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted required
- Ability to be creative, flexible, and decisive
- Exhibit a positive, calm, and professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple, complex, multi-faceted responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

- Exhibit a positive and calm demeanor at all times;
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours);
- Frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing;
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance;
- Scheduled hours are Mon–Fri, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. (Schedule is subject to change to meet business needs; could include Saturdays in the future.)
