The Caring Place has been a Georgetown institution for over 30 years. The community generally has a positive opinion of The Caring Place, even though many folks don’t know exactly what The Caring Place does and how it’s done. To help educate and inform the community, The Caring Place hosts a series of "Lunch ‘n Learns" or "Chat & Chews".
Volunteer Orientation: Please join us for volunteer orientation on the 2nd or 4th Thursday of each month, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. if you are ready to dive int the process of becoming a volunteer! Occasionally dates change, so please check the calendar on our website or on Facebook to confirm. Then, please RSVP! Lunch ‘n Learn events include lunch, a multi-media presentation and a comprehensive tour of The Caring Place. We will also go ahead and get you connected with our Human Resources Manager to help you decide where you'd like to volunteer in the organization.
Chat & Chew: Not sure you are ready to volunteer yet, but definitely want more information? Check the calendar for our quarterly Chat & Chew event. This event includes lunch, a multi-media presentation and a comprehensive tour of The Caring Place. There is no pressure to volunteer or give, we just want you to know about the services we offer and the impact we make in the community.
Advance reservations are requested for both events as it is important to keep the groups to a manageable size, plus we want to order enough lunches. Special groups of 4 or more can be accommodated on other days of the week if scheduled 2 weeks in advance. This is also a great opportunity for a club or organization’s meeting program. Join us! We think you will be pleasantly surprised.
