How to Help The Caring Place - Help Others

Since 1985, The Caring Place has provided for the basic human needs of people in Georgetown and northern Williamson County, TX in a welcoming, respectful and caring way.

The Caring Place is a community-based, community-supported, and community-serving 501(c)(3) organization that serves as a safety net for the people of Georgetown, Andice, Bartlett, Florence, Granger, Jarrell, Jonah, Schwertner, Walburg, Weir, and the portion of Hutto that lies within GISD.

  • Your one-time gift, a monthly gift, or a gift in honor or memory of a loved one will support the mission of The Caring Place. You can choose to allocate your donation where it is needed the most, or you may direct your donation to the Food Pantry or Loads of Caring.

  • When you become part of the Faithful Friends program, your monthly donation provides a predictable stream of income to support the mission of The Caring Place. To become a Faithful Friend, set up your monthly gift here or email development@caringplacetx.org.

  • Proudly sponsored by the City of Georgetown, The Good Neighbor Fund is a program designed to assist eligible Georgetown Utility customers who are having difficulty paying their utility bill. Voluntary contributions from customers like you fund this program, which is administered by The Caring Place on behalf of the City.

  • Hosting a food drive and/or a fundraising drive is a great way to increase the supply of food and resources needed to serve your neighbors in need. Click to learn more.

  • You may drop off your gently used and unwanted items Monday-Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. These items are turned into cash which covers operating costs and supports families in need. Find more info on the "Donate My Stuff" section of our website.

  • Donor Advised Funds

    Donate through your Donor-Advised Fund. Donor-Advised Funds (DAF) are often administered by a financial services company or a community foundation. You can combine the most favorable tax benefits of DAF with the flexibility to easily support our mission.

  • Matching Gifts

    You can double or even triple your impact through corporate matching gift programs. Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match the cash, check, credit card, and stock gifts of employees, retirees, and may even match the gifts of spouses! Some also provide a match for your volunteer time! Thousands of companies match monetary and volunteer gifts to The Caring Place including Dell, Samsung, IBM, Emerson, Apple, Walmart and thousands of others.

    Contact your HR department to find out if your employer matches your donation and/or volunteer hours.

  • When you shop at Second Helping, The Shops at the Caring Place or at our The Caring Place ebay store, your purchase is used to fund operating costs for the food pantry and the many programs and services offered by The Caring Place. We like to call this "Shopping for Good!"

  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.

Donation Refund Policy

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

Automated Recurring Donation Cancellation

Ongoing support is important to enabling projects to continue their work, so we encourage donors to continue to contribute to projects over time. But if you must cancel your recurring donation, please notify us.
