The Staff of The Caring Place
Ginna O’Connor joined The Caring Place as Executive Director in 2013. An advocate of community-based solutions to local problems, Ginna is honored to serve The Caring Place.
Prior to joining The Caring Place, Ginna worked as Vice President of Programs for the Senior Resource Association in Indian River County, Florida, where she directed the organization’s programs designed to help older adults age in place. Ginna has also led programs and initiatives at organizations such as the Nashville Coalition for the Homeless, United Way of Jackson County and the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries. Ginna and her husband, Brian, have two children, Josh and Katie who are much adored and growing up way too fast.

Programs & Services
Left to Right, Top to Bottom: Sheryl, Erin (Director), Rebecca, Kathleen, Dulce and Kerstin make up our Programs & Services Department. This staff along with a number of volunteers, are the face of our organization to our neighbors in need. If you know someone in the community that may need food, utility, rent, transportation or medical assistance, please have them visit Programs & Services at 2001 Railroad Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays for working individuals.
Left to Right: Peter, Mark, John (Manager), Martin and Justin (Assistant Manager) join forces nearly every day to make sure things run smoothly when people leave donations, pick up items purchased or move food and items around in our warehouse. Our Donations Drive through is behind our building at 2000 Railroad Avenue and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can also request large items be picked up by this team on our Donation line at 512-943-0711.
This team of three oversees everything happening in the Food Pantry. From fielding calls, to managing volunteers, to food donations, to welcoming our neighbors, David (Food Programs and Facilities Director), Lisa and Dennis stay busy meeting the food needs of our community.
The Shops at The Caring Place
Left to Right back to front: Dena (Asst. Manager), Ann (Director of Retail Operations), Ken, Penny, and Joan (Asst. Manager) can regularly be found in Georgetown treasure, The Shops at The Caring Place. Under the Direction of Ann, this amazing thrift store is bound to have what you need at a great price. If you can't find something, come back the next day as things are always changing! This store is located at 2000 Railroad Avenue and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Thursdays, they are open until 7! And don't forget, your purchases support The Caring Place mission of helping neighbors in need.

Along with creative volunteers, they create a cozy and inspiring place for you to shop for your home or business. This shop is located at 3700 Williams Drive and is open Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. And don't forget, your purchases support The Caring Place mission of helping neighbors in need. We call that "Shopping for Good!"
