Full-time Donations Assistant/Driver

The Caring Place has an immediate opening for a full time Driver/Donations Assistant to support the efforts of the Donations staff in all areas of item and food donations.  The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, a commitment to the mission of The Caring Place, and the ability to problem solve creatively.  The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative and can effectively work with minimal supervision to accomplish organizational goals.

 

Prefer candidate with at least two years of experience in warehouse setting. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent customer service skills through all interactions with customers, clients, volunteers and staff. The chosen candidate will have a valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record. S/he will work as part of a team and step in to fill voids as needed.

 

The candidate should be able to stand for long periods of time, work outdoors, lift and transport items weighing up to 100 pounds. This position works all Saturdays. Retail Sales Associate  

Part-time Position at The Shops at The Caring Place (2000 Railroad Avenue)

 

The Caring Place is a local, community-based nonprofit organization that has assisted families with basic human needs in Georgetown and rural Williamson County, Texas for over 30 years. The Caring Place is a dynamic, progressive, financially-stable organization, with a strong community image and a broad support base of constituents, stakeholders, donors, community partners and volunteers.

 

The Retail Associate position is a part-time, physically demanding, fast paced, and rewarding position.  The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a commitment to the mission of The Caring Place, and the ability to creatively problem solve.  The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative and can effectively work with minimal supervision to accomplish organizational goals.

 

Preferred candidate will have at least two years of experience in retail setting (ideally in a thrift or collectible store environment). The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent customer service skills through all interactions with customers, clients, volunteers and staff as well as be able to learn and become proficient in all aspects of the store operations and equipment. Preferred candidate will have the ability to train others.  In addition, the chosen candidate will work as part of a team and step in to fill voids as needed for: cashing, pricing, sorting, lifting, hauling, transporting, and organizing merchandise.

 

The candidate must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds, sort, price, display and sell merchandise. Computer skills required with working knowledge of point-of-sale and MS Word.  Bilingual (Spanish) is an asset.

 

This position is classified as non-exempt under the Federal Wage and Hour Laws. It is a part-time, 20 hour per-week position which includes working on Saturdays.

Client Services Support Coordinator

The Caring Place has an immediate opening for a Client Services Support Coordinator, responsible for providing services (directly and through oversight of volunteers) to individuals and families experiencing financial crisis and barriers to self-sufficiency.  This position provides direct support to Client Advocate and Quality Assurance volunteers, ensuring all volunteers meet organizational standards and interact with clients in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner. The Client Services Support Coordinator monitors processes to ensure efficient client service flow and operations.  As team member, this coordinator will provide client-centered services in a professional manner.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a person with genuine caring for people experiencing financial instability, and the ability to compassionately assist them to obtain maximum benefits from the agency’s available resources or referrals. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible, and decisive as well as sensitive to the needs of a diverse population. The candidate must be able to manage multiple, complex, multi-faceted responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while documenting quantifiable results.  The person must exhibit exemplary professionalism and maintain the integrity of The Caring Place brand image with clients and the community.

Two or four year social/human services college degree is preferred along with experience with volunteers, customer service, and working with marginalized populations. The candidate will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication abilities, computer skills, and social services skills.
