Vehicle Donation Program

The Caring Place is pleased to announce a new community partnership with WBD, Inc. dba Georgetown Muffler and Automotive. Through this partnership, The Caring Place will be able to accept donations of used cars or trucks. Georgetown Muffler and Automotive will receive the donated vehicles on behalf of The Caring Place, and prepare them for transition back into the marketplace in a “hassle-free” manner, ensuring both the donor and The Caring Place of compliance with regards to all legal and IRS requirements associated with the transfer.

Anyone interested in donating a car or truck need only contact The Caring Place at 943-0701 and request a representative to contact them regarding the donation. Everything else is taken care of, at no cost to the donor.  Georgetown Muffler and Automotive’s role will include staging the donated vehicle into the appropriate category. This can include repair and selling the vehicle on the wholesale market, or scrapping the vehicle if the cost to repair it exceeds the value. In either case, The Caring Place benefits financially from the transaction. In rare cases – vehicles in top condition may be identified to re-donate back to a Caring Place client family in need of reliable transportation. For more information, contact us at 943-0701.
